Frequently Asked Questions

When will my daughter be able to start pointe shoes?

Young dancers are always eager to start dancing en pointe too early. If the student has good ballet training then 10 or 11 years old. If the student did NOT have good training and is immature, then they are very likely to incur a lifelong disability.  My Assistant Director and I are both very qualified to assess the qualifications or lack of.

Why is Ballet SO important?

Ballet is the foundation or backbone of all forms of dance.  Ballet is written in French which is the original language of dance. By learning the correct terminology of each step it makes it easier to execute. Dancers are ONLY made through hours, days, years of repetition and good technique and control of both the body and mind.

At what age can they start Jazz?

The dancers are always anxious to start Jazz. It is high energy, exciting, and a lot of fun! However,  Jazz is built on basic fundamentals of ballet and without the proper training a young dancer won't even grasp the concepts to become a great dancer!

Why do we pay Recital Fee?

Recital Fees go toward the Venue, Backdrops, Security, Trophies, Specialty spray paint for the tap shoes, Props, Ribbons for the tap shoes, Materials I need for the earring I made you so you would not have to buy them...just to name a few things.

Why can't the Parents Watch?

It is very distracting to the younger dancer and the rest of the class unfortunately. The young students also tend to misbehave and/or not pay attention.

Why do you "NEED" stage moms for every class?

We are only two people - for the safety and well-being of the kids, we ask for those helping hands to assist with costume and hair changes, also making sure everyone in their assigned class looks exactly the same, to just name a few. If we didn't do it this way I would have to hire someone to help us which means your tuition would go up more.
